United Utilities' plans for new houses and jobs

12 December 2008

United Utilities' plans to revitalise its former training and conference centre site in Chorley and bring new jobs to the area have been approved by Chorley Borough Council.

The plans provide for up to 200 new homes and 10,800 sq m of office business space on the site off Myles Standish Way, South Chorley.

The residential accommodation will also include 20 per cent affordable housing and Paula Steer, United Utilities' commercial director, said: "This site provides a great opportunity to bring new jobs to the area as well as high quality housing including affordable homes for local people.

"We listened to the views of local people and the result is a scheme that will bring enormous benefits to the community."
