Water way to rehydrate!

Water way to rehydrate!

30 June 2009

United Utilities' water bar - made famous across the region during last year's multi award-winning 'Tap into Water' campaign - is making its next stop at Warrington's Walking Day event this Friday (July 3).

The bar's pumps will be flowing with high-quality drinking water to quench the thirsts of walkers during what is expected to be a scorching day.

The water bar will be sited outside Warrington Town Hall from 9am to 12noon.

John Prout, a United Utilities Project Engineer, is delighted that the water bar will be making another appearance at such a high-profile event.

He said: "We are very pleased to be supporting Warrington Walking Day and we're sure our water bar will be in demand with plenty of thirsty walkers!

"We're hoping for some glorious weather on Friday and we wish everyone who is involved in this special event all the very best.

"The quality of the tap water in this region is amongst the best in the world and we're keen to promote the environmental benefits of drinking tap water."

In the UK alone approximately three billion bottles of water are purchased each year.

This has a significant environmental impact due to the amount of plastic bottles sent to landfill - as well as the costs to produce the water and transport it to shops.
